3] – THE ORGANIZING LIST will be the primary decision-making mechanism of the National Campaign of Nonviolent Resistance [NCNR].  It will be augmented by conference calls and possibly in-person meetings as needed.  It will consist of 1 or 2 representatives from each local, regional, or national organization (not coalitions) that wishes to actively work to carry out the NCNR campaign of facilitating and organizing nonviolent resistance to the war in Iraq.

To join the ORGANIZING List, please send your name, group affiliation, city and email 6address to mobuszewski at Verizon.net.  Different local chapters of a national organization are encouraged to subscribe.  

THE NOTICES LIST will include only notices of NCNR actions and related information and is open to any interested person to subscribe.  It will be moderated to maintain focus & will include periodic notices about getting involved in NCNR national organizing.  To join the NOTICES List, send an email message to ncnrnotices-subscribe@lists.riseup.net. 5] – Usually, the Baltimore Ethical Society, 306 W. Franklin St., Suite 102, Baltimore 21201-4661, meets on Sundays, and generally there is a speaker and discussion from 10:30 AM to noon.  On Sun., Jan. 14, the Sunday Platform is “The Children’s March: Civilized Queerness.”  In celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s lifelong legacy, journey to explore the subtle erased history of Bayard Rustin and Walter Neagle. The Revolutionary Jé Exodus Hooper, an AEU leader in training, will address a historical premise of rightness within framework of Civil Rights. By centering the focus on Rustin and Neagle, help create a hermeneutic for queer bodies of today through unearthing a radical love ethic, sexual healing and the re-imagination of family. These key points will aid in inclusive language, framing of consent and embracing our Wholly Humanist curiosity.

Jé R. Hooper is the founder of Frequency House Productions and a recent Ph.D Interdisciplinary Arts candidate at Ohio University. His work promotes the intersections of art, justice, and religious ethics in efforts to obtain social equity. As a clergy person, he skillfully engages congregations in trans-linguisticism, performative preaching, and affect theory involving onomatopoeic communication. He is best known for his recent works, entitled “Moving Upon the Face of the Deep” featuring Dr. Cornel West, “The Black Sacred Communion,” and latest collaboration with his life partner, Storäe Michele, “the listening heart.”  Call 410-581-2322 or email ask@bmorethical.org.

6] – Come to an MLK Day of Service, hosted with Repair the World & IMPACT on Sun., Jan. 14 at 11 AM at Creative Alliance at The Patterson, 3134 Eastern Ave., Baltimore 21224.  Email info@creativealliance.org or call 410/276-1651.  Help to create relief kits with Heart to Heart. This organization distributes much-needed supplies to refugee communities around the world.  Lite fare will be provided. A musical performance will follow the service event. 

7] – On Sun., Jan. 14 join in Awake and In Motion: 50 Years of MLK, hosted by Advancement Project (DC) from 4 to 6 PM at the Washington National Cathedral, 3101 Wisconsin Ave. NW, WDC 20016.  In his final Sunday sermon, preached at Washington National Cathedral 50 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, preached on "Staying Awake Through a Great Revolution." Through excerpts from Dr. King's sermon, echoed in song, prayer, movement and dance, stay awake and in motion in service of the Dream. The event is sponsored by Advancement Project (DC)Howard UniversityThe Episcopal Church and Washington National Cathedral.  Doors open at 3:30 PM. Enjoy music by Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel, and the Washington National Cathedral house band. See contemporary dance and movement performances.  And hear excerpts of Dr. King's final Sunday sermon, preached at Washington National Cathedral on March 31, 1968.

8] – There is a weekly Pentagon Peace Vigil from 7 to 8 AM on Mondays, since 1987, outside the Pentagon Metro stop.  The next vigil is Jan.15, and it is sponsored by the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker.  Email artlaffin@hotmail.com or call 202-882-9649.  The vigil will be outside the Pentagon's south Metro entrance and in the designated "protest zone" behind bicycle fences across from the entrance to the Metro.  By Metro, take Yellow Line and get out at the "Pentagon" stop. Do not go to the Pentagon City stop! Go up south escalators and turn left and walk across to protest area. By car from D.C. area, take 395 South and get off at Exit 8A-Pentagon South Parking. Take slight right onto S. Rotary Rd. at end of ramp and right on S. Fern St. Then take left onto Army Navy Dr. You can "pay to park" on Army Navy Dr.,  and there is meter parking one block on right on Eads St. Payment for both of these spots begin at 8 AM.  No cameras are allowed on Pentagon grounds. Restrooms are located inside Marriott Residence Inn on corner of S. Fern and Army Navy Dr.

9] – Martin Luther King Day of Service on Mon., Jan. 15 from noon to 3 PM at Holy Redeemer Church, 206 New York Ave. NW, WDC. Go to www.lffp.org or call 240-838-4549 or email mjpeace@gmail.com.

10] – Participate in lunch and a peace walk on MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY, Monday, Jan, 15 at noon. Women in Black will gather to join with the Bishop's Peace Walk stating at St. Bernardine Roman Catholic Church, 3812 Edmondson Ave., Baltimore 21229.  If you need a ride, email info@peacepath911.org).  A light lunch will be served at the church followed by the peace walk around 1 PM.  The walk takes about an hour and is slow paced.  You can always drop out and head back to the church. Dress WARLMLY and in black if you can.  Bring your own peace sign, or carry a sign or banner for WIB.

11] – March with Veterans for Peace on Mon., Jan. 15 at noon in the MLK Parade.  Available to carry will be four VFP flags on poles, several banners, and MLK quotes and images to put on placards. There will be wearable VFP logos, so that all will be "in uniform," as the parade committee urges.  Gather at 11 AM on Eutaw St. beside the State Office Complex near MLK Blvd, and step off at noon.
